Association Management Resources (AMR) is an affiliate corporation of the Illinois Hospital Association (IHA).

YEARS OF OPERATION:

The AMR group purchasing program has served IHA member hospitals since 1976. AMR developed a nursing home program in 1981 and was one of the first organizations to develop a physician's program in 1985.

MISSION STATEMENT:

"To develop unique programs and services which assist our members in meeting their community's needs, and to reflect the highest standards of value, excellence, and leadership attainable in the marketplace.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES:

For more than fifteen years AMR has offered a turn-key purchasing program to 501(C)3 Corporations in the greater Chicago metropolitan area. Over 600 charitable and human development organizations participate in 50, value enhanced, purchasing programs.

GROUP SIZE/GEOGRAPHY:

Within the state of Illinois, the AMR hospital program is available solely to IHA member institutions, and is operated by the Connecticut Hospital Association Shared Services Program (CHA SSP). AMR's nursing home and physician programs serve facilities in 20 states.

Additionally, AMR operates a purchasing program for non-healthcare 501(C)3 corporations. Membership in the Human Service program is approaching 600 institutions in Illinois. Our mission statement "Serving those who elevate the human spirit" describes our relationship to this unique constituency.

MARKETING STRATEGIES:

AMR is constantly reviewing its approach to the marketplace, making appropriate modifications to enhance strategic development and membership value.

Our thrust is to assist our hospital, nursing home, physician and human service members not only in the acquisition of commodities, but in the development of value added programs and partnerships, that transcend traditional group purchasing involvement.
