Hospital Central Services Cooperative, Inc. (HCSC), is a non-profit cooperative.

YEARS OF OPERATION:

Founded in 1969, HCSC is well into its third decade of service to healthcare.

MISSION STATEMENT:

It is the mission of HCSC and its affiliates to provide healthcare organizations with services that generate cost savings, improve the quality of healthcare, improve the healthcare providers' market position and to obtain the best value in the marketplace. Additionally, HCSC strives to provide the organization, and its employees, with a sound and vital future, and to support the local communities, in which it operates, through job retention and creation, community involvement, and sound corporate citizenship.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES:

In addition to group purchasing (which includes general purchasing, medical/surgical purchasing, pharmacy, and nutrition), Hospital Central Services Cooperative, Inc. provides, for its members, laundry/linen programs and a community blood center operation under Hospital Central Services, Inc.

GROUP SIZE/GEOGRAPHY:

HCSC serves over 1,000 hospitals, nursing homes and medical providers in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Delaware, West Virginia, Maryland, Ohio and Florida.

MARKETING STRATEGIES:

HCSC promotes its contracts through on-site visits to participants. Administratively, they maintain a biweekly mailing schedule, publish their own quarterly newsletter, and maintain networking through regular participation in national, regional, and local professional organizations.
